Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.
Duties Description:
The incumbent will serve as a Project Manager (SG-25) within the NYSP dedicated team, focusing on procurement, contract management, and fiscal coordination activities that enable timely delivery and financial compliance of NYSP technology initiatives. Duties will include:
• Manage procurement and contract-related actions in support of NYSP technology programs, ensuring adherence to NYS Finance Law, ITS procurement policy, and VSMO requirements.
• Develop, coordinate, and track purchase requisitions, renewals, amendments, and Letters of Intent (LOIs) to maintain continuous service delivery and prevent contract lapses.
• Act as liaison between the NYSP dedicated team, ITS Finance, VSMO, and agency business units to ensure timely review and execution of procurement and fiscal activities.
• Monitor project budgets, maintain financial documentation, and support fiscal year planning and forecasting in coordination with cluster finance staff.
• Draft and review Statements of Work (SOWs), solicitation documents, and vendor communications to ensure clarity of deliverables, timelines, and budget alignment.
• Track vendor performance and contract deliverables to ensure compliance and mitigate financial or operational risk.
• Prepare and maintain reports, dashboards, and project summaries for leadership reflecting procurement status, spending trends, and key fiscal milestones.
• Provide guidance to project teams on procurement timelines, documentation requirements, and best practices to promote fiscal responsibility and audit readiness.
• Support process improvement initiatives that streamline purchasing and contract management activities within the NYSP dedicated team.
Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as Project Manager 2, SG23, (previously known as Project Manager 1, SG23) OR in a position at the SG21 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
