 Duties Description Assignment:
The NYS Office of Court Administration, Division of Technology and Court Research is seeking an accomplished technology leader for the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).    
 
This individual will help to steer our technology strategy and shape our technical direction, ensuring that the needs and objectives of the NYS Unified Court System are met.  The selected individual will collaborate closely with executive leadership, software development groups and our enterprise architecture team to ensure that our solutions are forward-thinking, secure, scalable and resilient. 
 
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills: 
 
• Visionary leader and decision maker with the ability to set clear technical direction.    
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to express complex ideas to both technical teams and executive leadership.   
• Demonstrated success in deploying technology solutions at scale, ideally within complex, multi-departmental organizations. 
• Strong technical proficiency with knowledge of current and emerging technology trends. 
 
Typical Duties include: 
 
• Build, lead & mentor cross-functional teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. 
• Evaluate, develop & implement new technologies and platforms to enhance the objectives of the organization. 
• Ensure that our IT solutions and services are aligned with organizational needs and are robust, scalable, secure and compliant with industry standards. 
• Manage technology procurements and budgets. 
• Establish and maintain software development policies and best practices. 
 
 
 Minimum Qualifications • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA/MSc or other relevant graduate degree is a plus. 
• 10 or more years of experience in IT and management, with experience across several different technology positions. 
• Prior experience as a senior engineering leader overseeing architecture and engineering for enterprise-wide technology platforms including cloud hosted systems. 
• Broad knowledge of software engineering: languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends. 
 
 Additional Comments  This position has potential to be eligible for one day of telecommuting per week.  The Unified Court System does not participate in e-verify, therefore we are not able to accept candidates on any Visa's requiring this authorization.
