Duties Description Position responsibilities include:
• Compiling and organizing data;
• Checking data for accuracy;
• Retrieving data from a PostgreSQL database;
• Conducting demographic and social statistics research and trends analysis;
• Maintaining and updating historical reference data;
• Utilizing statistical software for simple and multivariate data analysis;
• Compiling analytical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including Co-Executive Directors and Legislative Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications Position specifications include:
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Demography, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field;
• Knowledge of statistics, use of SPSS, SAS or other statistical packages, and Microsoft Excel;
• Familiarity with SQL queries.
Preference will be given to candidates who:
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Have the ability to synthesize data, visualize results, and present insights to nontechnical audiences;
• Have experience working with census and other large demographic data sets;
• Have a demonstrated ability to utilize AI prompts in research;
• Have knowledge of programming in Python;
• Have experience working with data visualization tools such as QuickSight, Tableau or similar programs;
• Have familiarity with preparing data for use in GIS environments
