Duties Description Under the general direction of the Program Research Specialist 4, the Project Assistant, NS (equated to G-25), for the Driver, Registration, Insurance, Vehicles, Enforcement, Safety (DRIVES) System Implementation Project, under the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Data Governance and Analytics will handle the most complex and sensitive requests and act as an intermediate level supervisor and manager guiding staff and establishing measures of success for the unit, while fulfilling responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

• Utilizes data management tools, scripts and other programmatic methods to sort, extract and manipulate data.

• Uses tools such as Tableau, MS Access, etc. to perform data visualization and analyze data.

• Extracts and organizes data sets.

• Present findings, conclusions and recommendations to management.

• Summarizes data in a way that non-technical staff can understand.

• Identifies data owners and ensure data quality issues and anomalies get corrected.

• Facilitates discussions and decisions among various stakeholders and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Queues and prioritizes assignments.

• Plans data collection methods for projects.

• Evaluates data sources for accuracy, reliability and usability.

• Identifies and selects proper data sources and tools for analysis.

• Assesses and reports on project progress.

• Assesses individual and group workloads and gives proactive feedback to staff and management.

• Elicits and documents data validation rules.

• Works collaboratively with the Project Management Office (PMO) and other Technology Strategy and Innovation Office units, to ensure the goals of this project are met.

• Performs the full range of supervisory duties.

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the following conditions:

Eight years of professional experience in research, analysis and/or technical support in the areas of administration, program management or system operations. At least two years of this experience must have been utilizing DMV’s business systems, processes and procedures

OR
An Associate’s Degree and six years of the required experience as described above

OR
A Bachelor’s Degree and four years of the required experience as described above

OR

A Master’s Degree and three years of the required experience as described above

Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
