Duties Description The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) in the Finger Lakes Region is seeking a candidate who will assist with office operations related to the delivery of support services to the public that involve Cayuga Lake State Park and Dean’s Cove State Boat Launch. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assign, review, train, and evaluate the work of lower-level employees.
• Prepare schedules, seasonal payroll, and various clerical activities and responsibilities surrounding seasonal staff, including employee hiring paperwork packets.
• Reconcile and enter revenue and attendance.
• Enter, verify, reconcile and close invoices in the Statewide Financial System (SFS) & the Budget Expenditure Tracking System (BETS).
• Track trainings and orientations.
• Perform and track inspections.
• Use reservations system and other software to process refunds and audits.
• Enter temporary and seasonal (T&S) staff payroll and update projections.
• Monitor and oversee fee collection, money banks, and auditing.
• Control parking access to and from park facilities during peak periods; issue vehicle warnings.
• Assist with reservations, process applications, and issue various permits.
• Reconcile vehicle use, gas and oil reports.
• Explain park rules, answer routine questions and handle complaints from park patrons.
• Utilize skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to assist with daily work.
• Assist with basic groundskeeping tasks, including moving debris, picking up limbs, and loading materials into trucks as needed.
• Clean offices and restrooms as needed.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays when needed.
