Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Order supplies
• Coordinate correspondence
• Help onboarding and offboarding employees
• Answer emails
• Run excel reports
• Work with mailroom to send packages and supplies to field offices
• Help distribute uniforms to field employees
• Work with various business units in DMV
• Help create and update documents and procedures
• Schedule meetings

Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for the Motor Vehicle Representative 1, G-9 position you must meet one of the following conditions as detailed below:

NY HELPS*:

Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma AND you must have either:

1: one year of experience in a position where your primary responsibility was providing customer service** to the general public*** either in an environment with substantial face-to-face interaction or in a call center environment

OR

2: 30 college semester credit hours

*This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means NO EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED, but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE A CIVIL SERVICE TEST. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.

**Civil Service defines customer service as dealing with many different individuals on a continuous basis where verbal communication is the primary means of accomplishing the duties of the position.

Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
