Duties Description The Office of State Senator Christopher J. Ryan seeks a motivated Community Outreach Representative in his District Office in Syracuse. This position reports to the Deputy Chief of Staff, and is responsible for research, planning and executing direct outreach to community stakeholders and district event planning and execution.

In this dynamic role, you will:

•Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities with the goal of building relationships throughout the District
•Conduct research on relevant issues and community stakeholders and draft and execute plans on engagement
•Draft and send regular outreach and correspondence to stakeholders and interested parties
•Collaborate with Constituent Services to develop constituent-serving public events to provide resources and meet constituent needs
•Assist the Constituent Services department in addressing constituent cases, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
•Attend community events, municipal meetings, board meetings as a representative of the Office of State Senator Christopher J. Ryan
•Exhibit unquestionable professionalism and adherence to ethical standards
•Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications To be considered, you must:

•Be highly dependable and organized, with strong communication skills, writing skills, and attention to detail
•Have one to two years of experience in community outreach, coalition building, or communications
•Possess a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but an associates degree with relevant experience will be considered. Existing familiarity with the Onondaga and/or Oswego communities and/or state government is a plus.

Additional Comments The salary range is $45,000 to $50,000, commensurate with education and experience.
