Duties Description Provides technical support and administration for server infrastructure, cloud services, and enterprise applications within SUNY System Administration. Assists with Level 2 and 3 technical support while developing expertise in server administration, Office 365/Azure environments, and enterprise systems. Contributes to infrastructure projects and maintains system documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Server Administration:
- Assists with Linux and Windows Server operating system administration
- Supports applications for System Administration and SUNY campuses
Performs standard support operations including:
- Server patching
- LAN account creation
- File share management
Develops familiarity with various server operating systems:
- Windows
- Linux
- AWS cloud hosting
- Azure cloud hosting
Azure/Office 365 Administration:
- Provides support for Office 365 and local hosted Exchange servers
Manages and supports core Office 365 services:
- Email systems
- Teams
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- File Sharing
- Microsoft Defender
- Assists with Azure platform administration
- Develops proficiency in O365 platform support
- Aids with security configuration for Azure and O365 resources
Technology Solutions Support:
Delivers 2nd and 3rd level technical support for:
- System Administration offices
- SUNY Campuses
- Department-specific services
- Familiarizes with SSII process and troubleshooting procedures
Maintains documentation in TDX knowledgebase for:
- End user reference
- OIT staff procedures
- Logs all incidents and requests in TDX System
Technology Solutions Projects:
Participates in departmental projects including:
- New product deployments
- Computer rollouts
- Server deployments/migrations
- Service migrations (e.g., ITEC Zen environment transition)
- Assists with implementation of new technologies
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Additional relevant experience may substitute for degree
- 0-2 years of technical support experience
- Basic troubleshooting abilities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software
- Ability to follow established procedures
- Good communication skills
- Basic documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems (TDX)
- Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment
- Experience in educational environment
Familiarity with:
- Windows operating systems
- Basic networking concepts
- Standard office equipment
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services
Additional Comments Additional Information:
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
- Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $50,000-$56,000 annually.
- State Title: Programmer Analyst (SL-2) and is part of the United University Professions Union.

- This position will be based in Albany, NY.
