Duties Description The Park Worker 3 will report directly to the Regional Park Maintenance Supervisor, SG-18, and will be assigned to Regional Maintenance. The incumbent will perform skilled and semi-skilled work supporting multiple parks and facilities within the Allegany Region. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform skilled trades work such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical repair and equipment maintenance.
• Support regional construction, rehabilitation, and infrastructure improvement projects across multiple park sites.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles, including trucks, loaders, tractors, trailers, and power tools.
• Supervise, train, and provide direction to lower-level staff, including seasonals.
• Assist with emergency response activities.
• Oversee and enforce applicable safety regulations and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate work assignments with regional supervisors and park managers.
• Perform daily water quality monitoring tasks and recording data for official records.
• Perform daily tasks in the operation and maintenance of potable water and wastewater treatment systems.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;
OR - One year of experience in any of the following fields:
• Law enforcement or security
• Firefighting
• Emergency Medical Services
• Environmental education or stewardship
• Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)
• Historic preservation or interpretation
• Landscaping or grounds maintenance
OR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;
OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;
OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;
OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.

Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Class B** CDL (with tanker endorsement) that allows the candidate to legally operate commercial vehicles in New York State within the probationary period and maintain it as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be willing and able to obtain Grade 1A Wastewater System Treat Plant Operator certification recognized by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation as assigned.
• Must be willing and able to obtain Grade C and D Community Water Systems Operator certification issued by the NYS Department of Health as assigned.

**Under the provisions of the Omnibus Transportation and Employee Testing Act (1991), this position has been designated Safety Sensitive. The incumbent is required to participate in pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
