Salary RangeFrom $86681 to $109650 Annually
Duties Description Data Analyst 2: produces business intelligence solutions by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports; devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources; conducts or coordinates tests to ensure that business intelligence solutions are consistent with defined needs; tests, validates, and reformulates models to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes of interest; creates a roadmap for, and lead, the creation and ongoing updating of Public Use Files (PUFs) posted to the Department’s open data platform Health Data NY; creates written reports and effectively communicates/presents results; and may supervise lower level staff. Gather requirements and provide creative solutions to support the group’s overall objectives.
Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.
*Substitution: An associate's degree may substitute for two years of general experience; or a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, HTML expertise in large scale data warehouse.
Experience with Data Quality Requirements & Standardization, Data Monitoring & Alerting and Data Cleansing & Remediation.
Experience with business intelligence tools e.g., Tableau.
Experience with technical documentation / diagrams.
Experience with tools e.g., Zendesk, SharePoint.
Experience in working with sensitive health care data.
Additional Comments Work hours and telecommuting availability (50% maximum) for this position will be discussed during the interview process, and are subject to operational needs and the telecommuting application process. Any non-telecommuting days are required to be in-person in the Corning Tower in downtown Albany, NY.
