Duties Description Duration: May-September 2026 (flexible start & end date)
Location: Niagara Falls State Park
Hours: 9am-5pm (flexible hours and days)
Undergraduate pay rate: $19.04/hour
Graduate pay rate: $21.57/hour

The SUNY Climate Corps intern will work as part of the regional Interpretive Team to enhance visitor experience by providing safe and enjoyable interpretive opportunities in the state parks of Niagara and Erie Counties. This will be done through public and requested programs, special events in and out of state parks, and the daily interpretive programming at Niagara Falls State Park and along the Niagara Gorge.

Job duties:
• Educate visitors during group and routine public programming including into and along Niagara River and Gorge.
• Naturalist at Large and Roving Naturalist at Niagara Falls State Park and gorge parks.
• Work with Interpretive staff in planning enhancements to programs to elevate Climate Science education.
• Work with Interpretive staff in designing education station focused on Climate Science education.
• Participate in outreach events including fairs, festivals, expos, etc.

Additional Comments This internship is only open to currently enrolled SUNY students.

Operational Needs:
• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree at a SUNY institution in environmental education, forestry, environmental science, ecology, natural resources management, or related discipline
• Candidate must be self-motivated, able to initiate projects and tasks, have good time management and organizational skills, and effectively work with others.
• Candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
