Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Supervisor 2, SG-14 at Harriman Group Camps, the selected candidate’s duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Assist in repairing historic wooden structures using various hand and power tools.
• Perform proper tree care operations including tree removal and pruning, from aerial lifts and the ground.
• Assist with the start up of the seasonal water system in the spring, and the draining and winterizing of the system in the fall.
• Assist in snow removal, shoveling snow, and operation of vehicles used to plow snow during the winter months.
• Assist in performing a wide variety of carpentry work, plumbing repairs, minor electrical work, and dock work under skilled tradespersons.
• Assist other areas of park maintenance and operations as needed.
• Work effectively in a team setting and demonstrate flexibility in tasks.
• Adhere to the agency’s Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.
Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications for this title per Civil Service.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including winter conditions and extreme heat.
• Must have the ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Must have the ability to operate a chainsaw and must complete OPRHP sawyer training or equivalent within one year and maintain it as a term and condition of employment. This training will be provided by OPRHP.
