Duties Description NYS Department of Motor Vehicles' Marketing Department is seeking a dedicated person with experience in marketing, in particular social media, to lead agency social media strategy and coordinate social media accounts.
What You Will Do:
• The Social Media Specialist, with the Marketing Director, will set strategy for all agency social accounts.
• You will develop, approve, upload, and manage social media content, including scheduling and performance analysis.
• You will work cross-functionally to create engaging social media content, including support the creation of multimedia assets, including graphics, photography, and video; ensure consistency and quality.
• You will keep track of current trends and utilize information from social media listening tools to create engaging, creative content as well as monitor state and federal news to inform digital content and strategy.
• You will set, track, and report on social media KPIs to key stakeholders.
• You will work with the Director to develop, maintain, and update the agency Social Media Style Guide while advising on best practices.
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
Substitution: An associate's degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience; and a master’s degree may substitute for five years of experience.

• You are a strategic thinker with a user-focused, continuous improvement mindset that will act as a key collaborator to shape and manage impactful digital content.
• You are a digital content strategist, with strong expertise in social media management, proficiency in online communication tools, and adaptability to new technologies.
• You can simplify complex government processes for online audiences and have experience overseeing government communications on social media (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
• You are adept at developing content strategies for effective digital communication.
• You have experience with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite (or similar).
Nice to Have:
• Experience running and optimizing digital ad campaigns.
• Experience utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro).
Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.
