Duties Description Critical maintenance and rehabilitation work on infrastructure and facilities, including campgrounds, boat launch facilities, offices, flood control facilities, recreational facilities, road systems, vehicles, foot trails, utilities, bridges and dams. These activities are essential to ensuring the protection of the public health and safety. It is necessary that the selected candidate has a working knowledge of construction best practices and techniques along with experience operating dump trucks, tractor trailer's, bull dozer's, excavators, front end loaders as well as small equipment including chain saws, power tampers, etc.
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation of heavy equipment which may include bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders, etc. Must possess a valid class B CDL with air brake endorsement upon hire.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Must possess a Class B CDL at the time of hire with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction.
