Duties Description Under the general supervision of Park Manager 1, SG-18, the incumbent will perform skilled and semi-skilled trades work in the primary trade of electric with additional work responsibilities in other trades. Duties may include both skilled and semi-skilled tasks, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Perform skilled and semi-skilled trades work such as repairing, maintaining, or constructing structural components, fixtures, and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to diagnose issues and determine corrective actions.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and related infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary to complete assigned tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and codes.
• May perform medium to heavy manual labor as part of daily tasks.
• Collaborate with other staff, contractors, and vendors to complete work efficiently.
• Complete work orders, track materials used, and document progress in maintenance systems.
• May supervise subordinate staff or assist with training.
• The incumbent will also be expected to be deployed to perform work during emergency events as directed by the State Emergency Management Operations Center and/or NYS OPRHP management.
Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
*If verifiable, we will accept and prorate appropriate part-time and volunteer experience.
Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to operate a vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must be available to work a variable schedule that includes weekends, holidays and/or evening shifts.
