Duties Description Under the direct supervision of an Office Services Manager, G23, the incumbent will provide oversight to the local Troop Quartermasters, supporting consistent operations and direct program execution. Responsibilities include:
DUTIES
Regional Oversight of Quartermaster Operations:
Conducting inventory audits and ensuring compliance with Division policies.
Identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
Providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to Quartermasters.
Maintains accurate inventory records for materials, equipment, and assets using inventory management systems.
Investigates inventory discrepancies, identifies root causes, and implements corrective and preventive actions.
Prepares inventory reports, performance metrics, and documentation for management review.
Supervises, trains, and provides functional oversight to Troop-level quartermaster staff at regional locations.
Analyzes inventory usage trends, lead times, and demand patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
Conducts and oversees cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
Execution of the Ballistic Protection Program at the Regional Level:
Scheduling and conducting employee fittings.
Coordinating Basic School class body armor distribution.
Managing returns, replacements, specialty unit requirements, and emergency deployments.
Ensuring regional accuracy in expiration tracking and inventory control.
Implementation and Maintenance of the Inventory Management System:
Overseeing Troop-level system usage, data accuracy, and workflow compliance.
Troubleshooting user issues and escalating system problems to the SG-23.
Ensuring inventory records statewide remain consistent and audit-ready.
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in warehouse and inventory operations.
NOTE: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience. An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of experience. A master’s degree may substitute for an additional year of experience.
OR
One year of permanent service as a G14 in which you were performing job duties associated with inventory control or warehousing operations.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to travel between Division Headquarters in Albany, New York and Troop G in Latham, New York as frequent travel is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of supervisory experience.
Experience managing law enforcement and/or military inventory and equipment.
Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date of the posting.
