Duties Description This Deputy Director Rehabilitation Hospital is an executive level position that serves as a the Chief Strategy and Performance Officer and reports to the hospital's Chief Executive Officer, responsible for driving the development and execution of long-term strategies, focusing on high-impact initiatives utilizing innovative business models to drive growth and introduce new technologies. The Chief Strategy and Performance Officer will work in collaboration with the CEO to establish the hospital's strategic plan and will provide operational decision support to the hospital and administrative oversight to assigned departments. The incumbent will direct the day-to-day operations for the following departments: Information Technology Services, Materials Management, Fiscal Services, Outpatient Services, and Patient Financial Services. Responsibilities include designing and implementing value-based growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, clinical service line development and partnerships as well as providing analysis, projections, return on investment estimates, market analysis and other data to support business decisions. The incumbent will work cross departmentally to facilitate improvements in operational efficiency and achievement of departmental goals which support the overall strategic plan of the organization. The incumbent will also work with Department Heads, establishing key performance indicators and creating balanced scorecards and dashboards to monitor department performance and achievement of goals. In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Fiscal Management, the Chief Strategy and Performance Officer will be responsible for the formulation of the Hospital’s annual budget and expenditure plan.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Ten years of experience as an administrator of a staff or support area in a program providing direct comprehensive services for patients in a rehabilitation or acute care hospital, of which three years must have been at a supervisory level.

**Substitutions:
A qualifying college degree may substitute for the portion of the general experience as follows: associate’s, two years; bachelor’s, four years; and master’s, five years. Qualifying degrees include: business administration, accounting, nursing, health care administration, business education, marketing, economics, banking and finance, industrial engineering, mathematics, computer networking, commerce, public administration, and industrial management.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have a master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or Economics. They will be Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). The preferred candidate will have twelve years of experience in healthcare services, and a proven record of accomplishment in health care/hospital environments, particularly in the areas of operational excellence, performance improvement and growth. They will have seven years of experience in the analysis and oversight of driving performance optimization, strategic planning, and operational success within a large public or private sector health care institution, including five years of the experience at a leadership/managerial level. They will be skilled in lean methodology and operational strategy that maximizes patient care value by systematically removing waste and reducing errors.

Posted salary range includes a downstate adjustment of $4,150.
