Duties Description The Program Aide position is in the non-competitive class and will be filled through the review of a résumé and a personal interview process. A Program Aide functions as a paraprofessional who performs a wide variety of administrative activities and tasks in support of the laboratory administration and quality assurance.
DUTIES:
Will provide essential administrative support to the FIC / Biological Science Cold Case team.
Assist in the compilation of information on previous laboratory testing in cold cases, for reference during meetings with law enforcement agencies.
Prepare tables, charts, and spreadsheets summarizing activity on cold cases.
Provide metrics as needed to track evidence submission, processing and completion of reports in cold cases.
Perform duties and tasks relating to the efficient administration of laboratory operations as assigned by supervisor.
Other appropriate duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years permanent service as a New York State employee in a title allocated Salary Grade 6 or higher,
OR
One (1) year permanent service as a New York State employee in a title allocated Salary Grade 9 or higher,
OR
High School diploma and two years of experience in an administrative support role, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and/or management of an office.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Should possess specific computer system technical skills, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and/or Outlook.
Should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work independently following established guidelines.
Any employee assigned to any lab will be required to undergo additional pre-employment screenings including a urine drug screening and polygraph.
Minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date of the posting.
