Duties Description The NYS Digital and Media Services Center at the Office of General Services seeks a creative professional to serve as the Digital Operations Coordinator. The Public Information Specialist 1 (Digital Content) will function as the Digital Operations Coordinator to assist with coordination and communication for digital and creative projects and campaigns.
This role requires a strategic thinker that is highly organized and can coordinate and communicate projects across teams from concept to delivery. This role is key in ensuring projects stay on schedule and are user-focused to improve customer experience.
Ideal candidates are strong communicators, with proven expertise in digital content, social media, and project coordination.
EVERYDAY IMPACT AT NYS DIGITAL SERVICE
The NYS Digital Service is a team of strategists, product managers and technologists working with agencies to streamline and improve the digital experience across New York State. We strive to create a community that works together to provide programs and services to New Yorkers in an efficient and user-friendly way.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with creating and posting content to websites using a content management system: press releases, best-practice guides and tutorials.
• Respond to high-priority digital requests that require quick-turnarounds.
• Coordinate project activities like scheduling and status reports across internal teams and agency stakeholders.
• Prepare presentations and reports.
• Identify and coordinate appropriate media needs for digital initiatives, including graphics, photography, and video in conjunction with those teams.
• Monitor Google Analytics; build analytics reports that provide valuable insights on website visitors and help shape and improve website content strategy.
• Monitor current events and news at state and federal level.
NOTE: This position may require routine evening and weekend work, as well as some travel on occasion between NYC and Albany.
Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
*Substitutions: A degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or a similar degree may substitute for experience as follows:
•Associates degree: Two years of required experience
•Bachelor’s degree: Four years of required experience
•Master’s degree: Five years of required experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in website content authoring and editing using a content management system.
• Experience coordinating and tracking multiple projects and tasks.
• Ability to collaborate with others and work within a team environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to write for diverse audiences using plain language standards.
• Knowledge of Google website analytics.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud applications including InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.
• Experience in using social media applications.
