Minimum Qualifications We have openings for attorneys at varying levels of experience; however, a minimum of two (2) years of federal and/or state court litigation experience is required. Superior writing, analytic and organizational skills are also required.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the OAG be citizens of the United States.
Duties Description The Litigation Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking experienced litigators to work in the New York City office. The Bureau represents the State of New York and its agencies and officers in state and federal courts in legal actions relating to education, social services, public employment, public health, law enforcement/prisons, housing, banking, insurance and taxation. Cases frequently present questions of federal and state constitutional law and statutory interpretation. Attorneys handle all phases of litigation, including trials.
Additional Comments Salary to be determined commensurate with experience.
