Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either 1. six years of business analysis experience, where 50% or more of your duties included experience in at least three of the five areas below:
? using recognized business analysis methodologies to elicit requirements from business users as the foundation for the solution to the organization's business needs;
? describing in a comprehensive written document (e.g., business case, fit-gap analysis document, or functional specification) what the system, process, or product/service must do in order to fulfill the business requirement(s);
? using recognized business analysis methodologies (e.g., business process flows, fit-gap analyses, or functional designs) to design solutions aimed at improvements by elevating the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes;
? documenting, communicating, and validating requirements throughout the system, process, or product/service development lifecycle for all changes to processes that would enable the organization to achieve its goals;
? developing test scenarios, scripts, and data; reviewing test results; and assessing the implementation of appropriate solutions to ensure they perform to the required specifications and are capable of achieving the design capabilities.
Or 2. a bachelor's or higher degree AND two years of the required experience as described in option 1 above;
Or 3. current certification as a business analyst where the certification process included a requirement of five years of business analysis experience, 21 hours of professional development, and an assembled (not an on-line) examination.
Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES: The project will store NYS UI Appeal Data in the Department’s data warehouse (DW). Currently, the UI Appeal data used to produce required federal reports is pulled from various sources including the mainframe, the NYS Appeal Board System, and other UI systems. The creation of a single repository for all UI Appeal data will improve accuracy and uniformity of our federal and ad-hoc reports. The incumbent will examine in detail the structures of an organization and document its business processes. The incumbent documents the flow of information and the structures that contain the information. The building of data dictionaries describing the data structures as well as the purpose and use of the information is a vital part of this analysis. The incumbent will need SQL skills, an understanding of data structures, and the patience, persistence, and communication skills to fully document this information.
