Minimum Qualifications • Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
Preferred qualifications:
• Preferred Senior level college student; minimum junior level college student
• Major in Information Technology or Engineering
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students)
• Or currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
Duties Description Work closely with Content Producers on the NY.Gov Digital Team to post content to the Governor and NY.Gov websites. Tasks could include:
- Post Governor’s schedules every morning
- Post translations of press releases, schedules and executive orders to Governor’s website
- Review & post press releases
- Crop images for website
- Update NY.Gov and Governor homepages
- Work on long and short term projects relating to content on NY.Gov and Governor.ny.gov
- Take meeting notes
- Assist with creating and posting content to NYGov and TasteNY social media channels.
Flexible hours – could work as early as 8:30AM – 6:00PM.
Preferred skills:
-- Photoshop – Beginner level (cropping / resizing of images)
-- Experience with content management systems, particularly Drupal is a plus
-- Basic HTML coding
-- Excellent spelling and grammar
-- Ability to work under pressure and quickly
-- Strong communication skills
-- Detail oriented, extremely organized
-- Knowledge of NYS Government / politics; news savvy
