Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or higher, AND five years of progressively responsible experience conducting, or managing, one or more of the following: audits, examinations, or program reviews, including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional certification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Master’s degree in accounting, business, public administration, economics. Extensive knowledge of professional audit standards, and goals and techniques of internal auditing or program evaluation; experience focusing on the health care industry; knowledge of governmental operations; and demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

Duties Description As the Director of Internal Audit for the New York State Department of Health (DOH), you will oversee and manage the DOH audit and control related functions; supervise and direct internal audit, contract and field audit activities according to applicable professional standards; oversee the Audit Clearinghouse Unit monitor workflow and unique issues that arise from reviewed audits; oversee and direct the Risk Management Unit as prescribed in the NYS Internal Control Act; monitor workflow and unique issues that arise from collected risk assessments; oversee all external audits of the DOH programs from initial engagement through final responses; and perform other duties as required.
