Minimum Qualifications Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as a Program Aide, Grade 13 (formerly known as Administrative Aide, Grade 13, or Agency Program Aide, Grade 13).

Transfer Opportunity: New York State employee with one or more years of permanent or contingent-permanent service in title at Grade 11 or above, and eligible for transfer to Program Aide, Grade 13, under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. They will be able to prioritize multiple assignments and have experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Duties Description The Bureau of Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP) is a federally funded public health nutrition program which provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in other programs.

The Program Aide will coordinate statewide training efforts for over 1,300 CACFP Sponsoring Organizations and staff. This will include coordinating the annual training schedule, securing space for statewide trainings, coordinating training invitations and monitoring registration. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing and distributing materials for all trainings, facilitating the training evaluation process and post training reporting, responding to training related inquiries via the Bureau mail log and phone, providing technical assistance, creating and maintaining user accounts and training content on CACFP's training website, compiling annual training reports, and maintaining job aides for all training related tasks.

Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
