Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as an Administrative Assistant 2. OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service in a position SG13 or above and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law.
Provisional Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in one of the following titles: Examination Composition Assistant, Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Spanish Language), Office Assistant 3, Law Department Document Specialist, Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding, Spanish Language), Administrative Assistant 1, Administrative Assistant 1 (Spanish Language).
Duties Description Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management (OPCHSM), the Administrative Assistant 2 provides administrative support to the Executive staff of OPCHSM, as well as the Office of Aging and Long-Term Care (OALTC). Duties include but are not limited to scheduling and coordinating internal and external conferences and meetings for DOH staff and outside participants; maintaining two (2) tracking systems for correspondence within OPCHSM and OALTC; answering questions from program managers and staff about DOH policies and practices. Working with unit managers to develop, revise, and implement procedures and unit policies; performing research for OPCHSM and OALTC Executive Staff on various applications including, Regulations, Health Commerce System, Hospitals CEOs, CFO's, Nursing Home Directors, Home Care and Adult Care Directors; performing SharePoint, web, BML, physical, and on-line records maintenance using Microsoft Office, and Power Point. Drafting, editing, and compiling written correspondence and Excel spreadsheets. Acting as liaison with internal and external organizations and stakeholders, as well as staff inside and outside DOH; coordinating the Red Flag Report, Weekly Report, and the Public Affairs report; purchasing supplies and equipment; supervising subordinate staff in the completion of unit responsibilities; and managing personnel activities for OPCHSM and OALTC Executive Staff.
Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
