Minimum Qualifications Permanent competitive service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a title SG-13 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Civil Service Law. Provisional Qualifications: One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service as Administrative Assistant 1, SG-11. If appointed provisionally, you must take the next examination for this title and be reachable on the resulting eligible list to remain in the position.
Non-competitive Promotion (NCP) Qualifications: A permanent appointment may be possible pursuant to Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law if there are three or fewer interested candidates who meet the following qualifications: Current DCJS employee and one year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in the title Administrative Assistant 1, SG-11.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, the Administrative Assistant 2 will ensure the efficient operation of the Office of Youth Justice (OYJ). The Administrative Assistant 2 will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Deputy and Associate Commissioners in the management of the day-to-day operations of OYJ; manage the day-to-day schedules of the Deputy and Assistant Deputy Commissioner; coordinating the logistics for various types of meetings including securing venues, making travel arrangements, and processing travel vouchers; serve as the liaison to executive staff in coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The Administrative Assistant 2 will also receive, track, and route correspondence; develop, maintain, and streamline office policies and procedures; and complete special projects as requested by the Deputy and Assistant Deputy Commissioners.
