Duties Description The incumbent will perform a variety of paraprofessional activities that support the Disclosure and Government Exchange unit. Included among those activities are the following essential functions:
• Support the unit in day-to-day activities
• Provide backup for administrative duties
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
• Enter and access information on the unit’s inventory databases housed in Microsoft Access
• Research taxpayer accounts and produce documentation by using various software, mainframe applications, and the internet
• Track and analyze statistical data to populate reports, charts, and spreadsheets
• Supervise subordinate staff responsible for carrying out support services for the unit
• Update the unit’s intranet page and various SharePoint pages
• Review incoming documentation requests for completeness and respond appropriately
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize work
• Assist in analysis, development, implementation, and testing of the unit’s software and databases
• Assist in annual testing of internal controls
• Proofread and verify the accuracy of outgoing correspondence
• Adhere to the department’s Code of Conduct and the Secrecy Provisions of the New York State Tax Law
• Adhere to the department’s time and attendance rules and regulations
Minimum Qualifications 1. Must be a current NYS employee, eligible for transfer in accordance with Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations.
2. Reachable on the appropriate eligible lists for this title and location.
